Drive By and Cry
I did a drive-by of the house I describe here, but realize I had left my camera charging today.
I will tell you – this is a little cottage, which if nature took it course and things started to be valued again according to real economic fundamentals, should run about 300K in a few years. Continue reading →
Catching the Top of the Wave
Many of you know I am a faithful reader of the oodles of real estate bear blogs out there. Many of the blogs are “shutting down” because the main stream media is now reporting more often the real story about one of the greatest asset bubbles in history. Continue reading →
SoCul (Pronounced “so-cool”)
So I haven’t heard this before, but you can mock me if you have and I’m just a copycat. This is my new nickname for South of Culver Blvd (below Sony Pictures area). It should be pronounced So-Cool rather than So-Cull – because, let’s face it, this is a great neighborhood in a city that just gets better every day.
Pretty soon my friend Millie and I will be creating a new website – Heart of Screenland – to feature the great finds in our little city within a city.
Still Can’t Figure This One Out
I first wrote about this house-perpetually-for-sale in January when it was listed for 869K.
The price had been as high as 947K at some point a few years ago, yet it never sold for some reason.
Here it is as of March 2007 at a new lowered price – though probably still not low enough for this eye sore. Continue reading →
When You Wish Upon a Star…

It’s not as if the prices aren’t insane in Culver City, where I’ve watched it go up and up since I moved here 12 years ago. But really – this house is probably under 900 square feet based on what I’ve seen in this town, and rents on a place this size would be under $2K. Continue reading →
Sick of My Bubble Posts? Too Bad.
As long as a house that looks like this is on the market for close to a million bucks and something in the hood that looks like its outside the Green Zone in Baghdad goes for over a quarter mill, I won’t let it go. Continue reading →
Can You Figure This One Out?
I lived a few doors down from this house on Huron Ave. a couple of years ago. Now offered at 869K.
Culver City Plaza Design

The final design plans for the Plaza are on the Culver City government website. (This is in pdf form).
Or visit http://www.culvercity.org
Looks like it will be a nice extension from the movie theater area – with an open-air space of some sort for concerts or the like.
UPDATE: This project is on hold due to the criminally inflated housing bubble that pulled the rug out from under financing these types of projects.
